Fabric Hand Softener

Fabri-Hand - A Solution to Improve The Fabric Hand of Printed Materials

Fabric hand is the way the fabric feels when it is touched. Softness, crispness, dryness, silkiness are all terms that describe the hand of the fabric. A good hand refers to shape retention without stiffness.

Different fibers, yarn and woven fabrics will have different fabric hand. The effect of fabric processing will also change the fabric hand. This includes processes such as wet processing, chemical finishing, mechanical finishing, printing and refurbishing.

Printed or finished textile material will often make the fabric stiffer, rendering it uncomfortable to wear. Screen or rotary printing makes the printed material with bad hand due to amount of print paste laid on the top of the fabric. Similarly, some ink jet printed materials will also have bad hand.  Pigment printed fabric will have worse hand than dye-based printed material.  Fabri-Hand is the way to improve the fabric hand of printed fabrics, whether it is screen or ink-jet printed.

Fabri-Hand can be applied on the printed fabric simply spraying on the top and allowing the fabric to air or heat dry.  It works by softening the binder used in your ink or coating making it softer to touch, resulting a better fabric hand.  It can also be added to your pre-treatment before you print on the fabric.
